Lesbian Tennis Star Makes Stunning Statement About Transgender Athletes

There is a disturbance in the sports of far-left radical ideology.

While the majority of feminists have been fighting for years to destroy the “patriarchy,” the perceived system of male dominance that has been keeping women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen for millennia, with the rise to prominence of confusing gender ideology, suddenly women find themselves trapped between continuing to defend women’s progress and defending men who want to surpass women in that progress.

Sports is, of course, the most notable playing field (no pun intended) where the oxymoron that is mainstream gender ideology is causing the most controversy.

The general consensus among run-of-the-mill leftists is that men who want to be women ought to be treated just like women.

But a growing number of feminists whose primary interest is the advancement and protection of women to have their own, man-free world are starting to speak out.

Naturally, considering the overwhelming attitude among cultural Marxists is that transgender interests trump cisgender interests on the intersectional hierarchy, the majority of people will push all women, no matter how “oppressed,” aside to make room for a man who identifies as a woman.

And any women who speak out against this do not go unpunished, like Tennis star and outspoken lesbian feminist Martina Navratilova.

LifeSite News reports:

Legendary tennis star Martina Navratilova, an outspoken lesbian and feminist, stunned some members of the LGBT world when she pointed out that men should not be able to compete as women.

Commenting via Twitter on a BBC article that asked if “transgender women” are really a threat to women’s sports, Navratilova was at first adamant that men should compete with men, and women should compete with women, no matter what “gender identity” they might declare.

“Clearly that can’t be right,” the tennis legend tweeted. “You can’t just proclaim yourself a female and be able to compete against women. There must be some standards, and having a penis and competing as a woman would not fit that standard … ”

Navratilova’s boldly stated tweet, which went up Wednesday, vanished without explanation by early Friday morning.

LifeSite explains that while she appeared to stand her ground for a few days on this topic, even when challenged by transgender followers, she must have either had a change of heart or succumb to the presser of the LGBT left.

Navratilova, of course, has every right to make this instance as a female athlete. This is one area in which radical feminists and fundamentalists Christians find themselves to be unexpected allies.

Allowing men to become women inevitably leads to men replacing women, and the most anti-patriarchial lesbian and biblical complementarian should be able to agree that to allow men to replace women is decidedly anti-woman.

As former competitive boxer Dorothy McLean asked last year, “When is it OK for a man to take a gold medal, a title, an athletic scholarship away from a woman?”

“It seems that he can if he says he is a woman, and they’re both athletes,” she explained, providing an answer to her own question.

“Since the 19th century, women’s sports advocates have been trying to get more girls involved in competitive sports,” she continued. “But what’s the point in putting your girlish heart and your womanly soul into your favorite sport if some boy is going to come along, call himself a girl and beat you? And when we’re talking about martial arts, we don’t mean that figuratively.”
